About Happy Snake:
To celebrate the Year of the Snake 2025, our studio began with a simple idea: to design a greeting card that offers a personal and playful experience for each recipient. This idea evolved into Happy Snake—a reinterpretation of the classic snake game as an interactive activity, allowing recipients to play and create their own unique compositions.
Happy Snake draws inspiration from the game Snake, developed for Nokia mobile phones in the 1990s, as well as Blockade, the 1970s arcade classic. These early games, known for their clean and simple mechanics, influenced us to explore how basic movements and a limited set of geometric shapes can generate endlessly diverse compositions.
For us, Happy Snake symbolizes the balance of life. Often, our greatest obstacles are ourselves. Each move to grow brings new challenges, much like how our choices shape our personal development. We hope that the balance of survival, happiness, and simplicity makes the game both enjoyable and visually engaging.
Happy Snake was shared with our families, friends, teams, collaborators, and clients—many of whom have also become dear friends and mentors—as a humble way to celebrate the New Year and mark Studio Aeroplane's 15th Anniversary.
