Located on the 4th floor of the 50th Anniversary Memorial Building at Chulalongkorn University, the Chulalongkorn Business School Academic Offices support multiple academic programs, including BBA, DBA, Commerce, and Master of Management.

Traditionally, these offices functioned as program-specific, administrative workplaces, prioritizing operational efficiency within individual programs. Today, academic offices have evolved into platforms for continuous educational development, reshaping how people work, connect, and experience the institution.

In response, the CBS Academic Offices are reimagined around three objectives:

A smart workplace that supports efficiency, productivity, and well-being of its users
An interface to the world that accommodates user diversity and fosters interdisciplinary exchange
A reflection of the institution’s values, embedded in both the ways people work and experience space

Guided by the concept of “Simple Elegance,” these objectives are translated into a spatial framework that balances privacy, functionality, and adaptability across different modes of work, from private offices and open workspaces to internal meeting rooms and collaborative areas open to students, visiting scholars, and guests.

By planning all academic offices collectively, the design streamlines circulation, minimizes cross-traffic among user groups, and reduces spatial redundancies. The changing nature of work is also reflected in the approach to storage. With documents increasingly stored and accessed digitally, extensive shelving is reduced in favor of compact, conveniently located storage for stationery and everyday operational needs. The resulting efficiency opens up the floor plan, allowing more natural light into the workplace and creating room for new functions, such as a common area shared among the academic offices, encouraging spontaneous encounters.

In this approach, elegance is understood not simply as an aesthetic quality, but as the thoughtful integration of function, form, people, and resources to create an environment that supports growth while expressing the institution’s values through everyday practice.

แนวคิดของงาน:

แนวความคิดในการออกแบบของโครงการนี้ คือการสื่อสารตัวตนของสำนักงานหลักสูตรผ่านความสง่างามของการใช้งานจากภายในสู่ภายนอก โดยการสร้างสภาพแวดล้อมที่ส่งเสริมความเป็นอยู่ที่ดีทั้งทางร่างกาย จิตใจ และการรับรู้ของผู้ใช้งาน ควบคู่ไปกับการสนับสนุนปฏิสัมพันธ์ระหว่างมนุษย์กับมนุษย์ และภารกิจโดยรวมของสถาบันการศึกษา

ความสง่างามในบริบทนี้จึงไม่ได้จำกัดอยู่เพียงภาพลักษณ์ของพื้นที่ หากยังรวมถึงความคิดสร้างสรรค์ที่แฝงอยู่ในกระบวนการทำงาน และการจัดการทรัพยากร เพื่อหาความสมดุลที่ลงตัวระหว่างประโยชน์ใช้สอยและรูปแบบ รองรับความหลากหลายของผู้ใช้งาน และผสานคุณค่าจากอดีต ปัจจุบัน และอนาคตเข้าด้วยกัน

สภาพแวดล้อมภายในสำนักงานจึงทำหน้าที่เป็นทั้งพื้นที่สร้างแรงบันดาลใจในการทำงาน พื้นที่แลกเปลี่ยนความรู้ระหว่างหลักสูตร และพื้นที่ที่สนับสนุนการพัฒนาอย่างต่อเนื่อง ไม่เพียงสำหรับผู้ใช้งานภายใน แต่ยังสะท้อนตัวตนและคุณค่าของภาควิชาออกสู่ภายนอก เพื่อสร้างประสบการณ์ที่น่าจดจำแก่สาธารณะต่อไป
