The exhibition Dr. Puey Ungphakorn: A Chronicle of Hope from Womb to Tomb honors the centennial of Dr. Puey Ungphakorn’s birth. It revisits his vision for fundamental human rights in Thai society, as laid out in his seminal 1980 essay, "The Quality of Life of a Southeast Asian: A Chronicle of Hope from Womb to Tomb."
Coinciding with a period of military governance following Thailand’s 13th coup d'état in 2014, this exhibition serves as both a commemoration and a forum for citizens to express their hopes and concerns. In line with Dr. Ungphakorn's advocacy, the exhibition was designed based on the belief that freedom of expression is an essential right that should be cherished, protected, and practiced responsibly in any modern society.
